The Pediatric Foundation of the North Shore, Inc. was organized in January 2005 as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to pediatric patients and their families in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana and surrounding parishes and counties in Louisiana and Mississippi.

As organizing and initial fundraising activities progressed, all board members and volunteers suffered losses and damages to one degree or another as a result of hurricane Katrina. Thus the realities of recovery in southeast Louisiana put further work of the foundation on hold.

In 2007 the Pediatric Foundation of the North Shore began reconstituting its board and planning its charitable activities. Those activities will be divided into five program areas: Rx for Kids, Pediatric Medical Education, Support for Pediatric Patient Care, Child Life Program, and Pediatric Family Residence.

The Pediatric Foundation of the North Shore is a 501 C3.
